We are excited for the 2021 Gold Nugget Triathlon and hope you are too!

We really missed all of the GNT racers, partners, volunteers and community last year and hope to see many of you this year (in person or virtually). We have put together something for everyone. Check it out, see what works for you, and get ready to get your GNT spirit on!

While we wish we could return back to the traditional GNT race format, we expect that COVID-19 will still be impacting large events like the GNT. In all of our planning we are committed to the GNT mission of improving the lives of women and girls through athletics and maintaining a fun and safe environment for all involved.

With the above in mind, we are offering a revised race format with several options for racers to choose from.  The goal is to offer racers options that fit their needs and comfort level while using event formats that will allow us to manage COVID-19 requirements and maintain a safe and healthy event. At the same time, we are leaving space for the flexibility to adapt if circumstances around the pandemic change.

*Racers who deferred their 2020 GNT registration to 2021 will have the first priority for registration as noted in the registration dates.

Hybrid Triathlon

500 yard swim, 12 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
A perfect mix for those who want to do some of the event in-person and some on their own. Best of both worlds and all hybrid racers join together (distanced) GNT style for a final in-person run on May 15. Learn more about the hybrid race options.

Virtual Triathlon and Duathlon

Tri: 500 yard swim, 12 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
Duo: 1.2 mile run, 12 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
Not quite ready to do a live event. That’s okay! You can choose to do all 3 events virtually anytime May 7-16 and self-time/self-report by May 16. Haven’t been in the pool since pre-COVID? We’ve got you covered. You can choose to do a duathlon. Learn more about the virtual race options.

Live In-person Triathlon

300 yard swim, 9 mile bike, 3.1 mile run
Bring it on, right? For those that are comfortable and ready for a live event – this one’s for you! In keeping with local guidelines, this event will be live but limited to 400 participants. Learn more about the in-person live event.
