HYBRID RACE OPTIONS

Each hybrid option is limited to 400 participants

 

HYBRID – OPTION 1

LIVE TIMED SWIM (Hybrid 1)
  • Distance: 500 yards
  • Locations: See detailed swim choices below. At registration you will be asked which date and location you want to complete the in-person swim portion of your event. In-person swim options will be held May 7 – May 14
  • If you are unable to make any of the swim times noted, or there is not an in-person swim location in your community, you should select “Hybrid Option 2”
  • If you are unable to make the live, in-person run you should considering selecting one of the virtual race options

VIRTUAL BIKE (Hybrid 1 and 2)
  • Distance: 12 miles
  • Bike on your own anywhere you want: indoors on a trainer or stationary bike or outside, hilly or flat – you choose
  • Must be completed May 7 – May 16
  • Self-time and self-report (see more about submitting your time in the results page)
  • Results must be submitted by 8:00 p.m. on May 16
LIVE IN-PERSON RUN (Hybrid 1 and 2)
  • Distance: 3.1 miles
  • May 15 at Bartlett High School (new venue – see details)
  • Racers will we sent out in waves to assure good social distancing. You will be asked to select a wave during registration
  • Runners will go out in 30 minute waves from 9:00 – 11:00 am. Individuals with a sub 7:00 minute per mile pace will go out in the first wave at 9:00 am.
  • It’s a rolling start. As racers enter the corral, any time in their 30 minute wave, they will, ‘roll into and over the the start line.
  • The chip on a racers bib will be captured at both the start and the finish of the run.

HYBRID – OPTION 2

VIRTUAL SWIM (Hybrid 2)
  • Distance: 500 yards
  • Swim on own anywhere you want
  • Self-time and self-report (see more about submitting your time in the results page)
  • Results must be submitted by 8:00 p.m. on May 16
VIRTUAL BIKE (Hybrid 1 and 2)

Note: Both Hybrid Option 1 and Hybrid Option 2 conclude with the same live run on May 15 at Bartlett High School. If you are out of town and unable to do the live run, please consider signing up for the virtual event.

LIVE IN-PERSON SWIM SCHEDULE (Hybrid 1)

The live in-person swims will be held at various locations in:

  • Anchorage:
    • Bartlett High School
    • The Alaska Club South (AKC South)
    • The Alaska Club East (AKC East)
  • Wasilla – The Alaska Club (AKC Wasilla)
  • Fairbanks – The Alaska Club (AKC Fairbanks)

If you are unable to participate in the live swim at one of these locations (or on the dates offered) you will want to select either the Hybrid 2 option or one of the virtual race options.

Swim waves will be held in 20-minute blocks of time (see overall times per locations below). You will receive detailed information about the swims and COVID protocols as we get closer to the event dates.
