Safety first!
Helmets – on your heads, please! If the wheels of your bike are moving and you are straddling your bike, sitting “lady-like” on the top tube or sitting on the seat, your helmet MUST be on your head AND strapped. This is before, during, and after the race – and especially during bike drop off. This is watched by everyone and you could receive a penalty. No, no, we don’t want any penalties! Family and friends on bicycles will also be asked to leave if they do not wear helmets while on and GNT event property.
Medical Services – There will be medical personnel in the pool area, on the bike course at JBER/Glenn Highway overpass, at Transition 2 (from bike to run), and at the timing finish at Pena Park Sports Complex. A medical tent and personnel will also be located outside of T1 at Bartlett High School.
Radio Communications – The Anchorage Amateur Radio Club will have a van at the main event area at Bartlett High School. Radio personnel will also be located in the pool area, on the course at the JBER/Glenn Highway overpass, at the bike turn around, at Transition 2 (bike to run), at the timing finish at Pena Park Sports Complex, and on bicycles and/or ATV’s along the run course. In the event of an emergency, they can provide assistance. Please, emergencies only!
