Race Nuts & Bolts

Triathlons, with three sports and  two transitions, have a lot of logistics. Review all the information here that you need to nail down the details and rock it on race day.

  1. We will offer new racer clinics and pool sessions. Look for sign up information soon!
  2. Join the Spirit of the GNT Facebook Page to start discussions with other racers, ask questions, and join in the fun!
  3. We follow the rules outlined by USA Triathlon.
  4. Here are some training tips:
    1. Focus on indoor biking, running, and swimming

    2. Add brick workouts (e.g., biking then running)

    3. Gradually increase workout durations

    1. Exercise regularly to improve cardiovascular stamina

    2. Alternate run and bike workouts to avoid overuse injuries

    1. Aim to swim 400 yards (8 pool laps) comfortably

    2. Practice sidestroke or backstroke if freestyle is challenging

    3. Know your approximate 400-yard swim time

    4. Attend GNT swim clinics for support

    5. Training with a friend or family member adds fun and accountability.
