Run Course

The GNT run course offers a scenic and slightly downhill route.

Route Details:

  • Start: Begin your 3.25-mile run down the hill. A port-a-potty is conveniently located on the left early in the route for your use.
  • Tank Trail: Continue across the bridge and onto the marked tank trail, which is unpaved but well-trodden and compact. Along this 2.25-mile wooded trail, hydration stations, medical teams, radio crews, and volunteers are positioned to support you.
  • Trail Fork: At the fork, turn right, following the clearly marked signage.

Transition to Pavement:

  • Starview Drive: Veer right onto Starview Drive (the Glenn Highway frontage road) and transition to pavement. As you proceed, enjoy live music performed by talented local musicians.
  • Road Section: Run along the left side of the road for approximately 0.8 miles, passing notable landmarks such as the Chugach Electric plant and Centennial Campground.

Final Stretch:

  • Centennial Park to Finish Line: Upon passing the Centennial Park Campground, enter the flagged running lane on the left. This will guide you toward the finish line at Pena Park Sports Complex.
  • Finish: Follow the cones, flags, and uplifting celebratory music as you cross the finish arch.

Congratulations! You are now an official Gold Nugget Triathlon finisher.
