Run Course – 3.25 Miles

The Gold Nugget Triathlon run course features a scenic and slightly downhill route, providing a rewarding finish to your race.

Course Overview

Start: Begin your 3.25-mile run by heading downhill. A port-a-potty is available on the left early in the route for your convenience.

Tank Trail: Cross the bridge and continue onto the marked tank trail, an unpaved but well-packed and well-maintained path. This 2.25-mile wooded section is supported by hydration stations, medical teams, radio crews, and volunteers.

Trail Fork: At the fork, turn right, following clearly marked signage.

Transition to Pavement

Starview Drive: Veer right onto Starview Drive (the Glenn Highway frontage road) and transition to pavement. Enjoy live music performed by talented local musicians along the way.

Road Section: Stay on the left side of the road for approximately 0.8 miles, passing landmarks such as the Chugach Electric plant and Centennial Campground.

Final Stretch

Centennial Park to Finish Line: After passing the Centennial Park Campground, enter the flagged running lane on the left, guiding you toward the finish at Pena Park Sports Complex.

Finish: Follow the cones and flags as the celebratory music welcomes you across the finish arch.

Congratulations! You are now an official Gold Nugget Triathlon finisher.
